Rob’s primary goal is to create work that is unique, high-quality and affordable. The process Rob uses allows him to produce work multiple times in different variations.
Rob’s preferred way of diplaying work is pirnted and sealed on canvas and offset framed. For each new exhibition, Rob tries to show new work that has no been viewed before. Rob is constantly discovering new methods and ways of upgrading and improving his process.
Works shown at each new exhibition will be offered at a retail price as people have the opportunity to view it for the first time.
If you would like to be added to Rob’s mailing list, then you will be offered the opportunity to purchase Rob’s work at a sale price.
As part of Rob’s process he has made a habit of completing a minimum of 20 new art proofs every week. Each collection is chosen from what Rob considers the most interesting developments from that time period.
Pricing Criteria
Rob’s prices are based on the total area of each work. The work he produces on canvas starts with the base sizes of a square, and half a square and are calculated multiple times. The square and half square form a rectangle and all of his work is now designed to fit into multiples of those shapes.
When selecting a desired area within an art proof, Rob will try to work within these confines. But, when necessary because the work is abstract, it can be digitally stretched or squashed to fit those confines. For example; if James asked to produce a work that is 60cm high and 1.5m in length, the calulation is a square + a rectangle (a square being 60cmx60cm and a rectangle being 60cmx90cm).
For Rob to use this process he has discovered it makes no sense to produce work on a small scale.
All work can be customised to specific requirements. It can be customised from an existing proof or it can be created to your request.
If you are interested in making a one-off purchase, you can request to view a portfolio of Rob’s art proofs online or request a one-on-one session with Rob to show you how to create your own.
Robs works on canvas are from 60cm to 1.4m in height and can be up to several meteres in length if required.
On archive grade cotton rag paper, Rob’s work can be purchased to fit an A1 or A2 format.
Rob’s Printer & Framer
The printer Rob uses is Matt Stevenson, the owner of Bells Fine Art & Printing in Geelong, Victoria. He specialises in high quality art reproduction and is a certified Hanamule printer, one of only a handful in Australia.
Matt has been extremely helpful in teaching me the computer skills I need to constantly improve my process. He is one of the few printers I have foudn that seal every canvas and can pack and post any sealed canvas anywhere in the world at minimal cost, ready for framing.
Rob’s preferred framer is Micahel of 44 Frame Factory, who has given me excellent service for many years and will deliver framed work anywhere on the Surf Coast or Melbourne for a reasonable charge.
